Big Nights From Rademacker, Reeves-Eakins for Chargers in Win at Black Hawk

MOLINE — Sophomores Gracie Rademacker (Green Valley, Ill./Midwest Central) and Carley Reeves-Eakins (Branson, Mo./ReedsSpring) each finished with double-doubles as the Carl Sandburg College volleyball team defeated Black Hawk 26-24, 25-14, 21-25, 25-12 on Tuesday night.

The Chargers (21-12 overall, 5-2 overall) swept the season series against the Braves (17-17, 2-5) as Rademacker totaled 11 kills on an error-free .324 hitting percentage and added 13 digs for her eighth double-double this season. Reeves-Eakins contributed 10 kills and 11 digs to reach double figures in both categories for the seventh time this year.

Libero Jasmin McDaniel (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods) had a team-best 22 digs and served three of the Chargers’ nine aces, while setter Carmyn Baldwin (Lewistown, Ill./Lewistown) had 30 assists for Sandburg. Freshman Jadyn Swan (Peoria, Ill./Limestone) totaled three blocks for the Chargers.

The victory guaranteed that Sandburg finishes in at least second place in the conference. The Chargers have one Arrowhead match remaining, Oct. 26 at Illinois Valley.
